Description: A highly effective team requires some important elements such as a shared purpose, common goals, trust, and collaboration. Achieving these elements may seem more challenging with five different generations populating the current workforce, each bringing their own particular approaches to work. However, understanding each generation’s motives at work and aligning their needs may alleviate potential conflicts and enhance performance levels.

Speaker: Gerrie Zvara, Ph.D. Performance Improvement and Organizational Development Manager for the Administration Division’s Organizational Effectiveness and Development department. Gerrie has been working in the Training/OD field for 15+ years. She began her career at UCLA with Transportation Services as the Training and Development Manager in 2005 before moving to her current position at the division level. Before coming to UCLA, she was the Assistant Director of Training and Development with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. Gerrie is a UCLA alumna and is a True Bruin all around.
Directions: Our next Learn at Lunch will be held in at 11:30 a.m. in room 23-105 CHS (Center for the Health Sciences). The easiest way to get here is to enter via the main Fielding School of Public Health entrance off Charles Young Dr. South (across from NRB and Lot 9). Take the elevators to the 2nd floor. Make a right when you exit the elevators and then a left at the first hallway (corridor 3). Walk down the hallway until the very end. Room 23-105 is on the left. If you’ve entered the School of Dentistry, you’ve gone too far.
