What is your role at UCLA?  My role at UCLA is the Budget and Administrative Services Manager for the Registrar’s Office.

Before joining UCLA, What was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

The most interesting job I had before joining UCLA was being a kitchen and bath designer for Lowes. I really enjoyed that I was able to create someone’s dream kitchen and bring an idea to life.

What’s your favorite aspect of your job?

My favorite aspect of my job is when I am able to be helpful and find a solution to a situation or problem.

When are you most productive and why?

I am most productive once I’ve laid out a game plan and have my to do list ready.

Tell us about someone who has mentored or influenced you the most in your career path. In what way did he/she/shape your decisions?

I have multiple influences on campus. I would have to say my husband (who is also a member of the UCLA community) has been the most influential person in my career path. He has been fully supportive and has always believed in my abilities and always encouraged me to follow my dreams.  I would also have to say that my supervisor Frank Wada has been very influential and supportive by allowing me to pursue my educational and professional development goals.

What would you tell someone who is applying for a job at UCLA?

Never give up. Keep applying, it will take some time but it’s worth it.
