Pamela Brown

Pamela Brown is Vice President of Institutional Research and Academic Planning (IRAP) at the UC Office of the President. She began in November 2013 and manages a team that produces evidence-based analyses and reports for university and academic senate leaders to advance strategic and academic planning, address legislative requests, support assessment, and promote transparency efforts.  IRAP is responsible for the production of UC Annual Accountability Report , UC Information Center (https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter), and UC in California maps  that illustrate the impact of the University of California through data-driven narratives and visualizations. The team administers numerous systemwide surveys, including UC Undergraduate Experience Survey (UCUES), undergraduate and graduate cost of attendance, and graduate student well-being, and the IRAP website  includes additional topic briefs and reports on university academic and administrative operations.  Prior to joining UCOP, Pamela worked sixteen years at UC Berkeley where her last role was Executive Director of the Office of Planning and Analysis (OPA).  Pamela received her M.A. from the Graduate School of Public Policy and her B.A. in Applied Mathematics, both from UC Berkeley.

Chandra S. Bhatnagar, Director of Staff Diversity and Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance. Chandra oversees investigations of discrimination and harassment complaints involving UCLA staff in the university and the UCLA Health System, the development and implementation of UCLA’s staff affirmative action plan, programs to ensure equal employment opportunity for staff, and educational efforts to advance staff diversity and inclusion throughout the university and the UCLA Health System. Prior to joining UCLA Chandra was the Senior Attorney Advisor to Commissioner Jenny R. Yang of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”). He spent a decade in the Human Rights Program of the American Civil Liberties Union (“ACLU”) as a Senior Staff Attorney and was part of the trial team in New Orleans in the trafficking and discrimination case of David, et al v. Signal Internal, LLC, et al. where the jury in David awarded $14 million in compensatory and punitive damages. Chandra is the recipient of the Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year Award (2015-2017), South Asian Bar Association of New York Litigation Achievement Leadership Award and the Penn Law Young Alumni Award. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and LL.M. with a focus in international human rights from Columbia Law School.

Cori Close

Cori Rashel Close was named the Michael Price Family UCLA Women’s Head Basketball Coach on April 21, 2011, and is currently 160-95 (.627) overall. She enters her eighth season at the helm of the Bruins’ program in 2018-19 and posted her 100th victory in a 95-47 win over Southern (Nov. 18). Cori was named the 2018 United States Marine Corps/WBCA NCAA Division I Region 5 Coach of the Year for the second time in her career. She began her coaching career at UCLA as an assistant coach in 1993. Previously she was the Associate Head Coach at Florida State (2004-2011), Assistant Coach at UC Santa Barbara for nine seasons serving as the Associate Head Coach for the last three (2001-2004). Close’s work led to such achievements as a 98 percent graduation rate, seven WNBA players, 15 professional players overseas, 12 Big West Conference MVPs, nine district All-Americans and one second-team All-American. She holds a M.A. in Educational Administration and was mentored by Coach Wooden for 10 years.

Dr. Anne Dela Cruz, PhD, Executive Director of Student Affairs Initiatives and Deputy Director to the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. She contributes in a senior leadership role to setting organizational agendas and strategies to foster an inclusive and diverse campus for undergraduate and graduate students. She was previously Assistant Dean of Diversity, Inclusion and Admissions (DIA) at the UCLA Graduate Division where she oversaw graduate outreach, recruitment, and admissions for UCLA masters and doctoral programs, as well as graduate diversity efforts. In her work in DIA, Anne increased the visibility and refined the direction of many Graduate Division diversity programs while building partnerships with various Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) including California State University (CSU) campuses.  Anne led efforts resulting in UCLA receiving the most number of University of California-Historically Black Colleges and Universities (UC-HBCU). Dr. Dela Cruz began her career at UCLA as Assistant Director at the UCLA Anderson School of Management Professional MBA Programs Career Management Center where she managed part-time MBA career center operations. She earned her B.A. in English and Economics, her doctorate in education (Ed.D.) all from UCLA. She earned her M.A. in English and in Teaching ESL (TESOL) from CSU.

Linda L. Gaddie is a senior Human Resources professional with experience in the public and private sector. She has been with the University of California system for 5 years, serving as the Director of Compensation, Benefits, and Employment Services (Recruiting) for the UCLA campus and prior to that as Compensation Manager for UC, Riverside. Before joining UC, Ms. Gaddie was the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for a large healthcare company in Salt Lake City, Utah. She also served for many years as a Principal and Senior Consultant with Larcen Consulting Group. Her areas of business experience include Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Operations. Previously Ms. Gaddie was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the behavioral health group for Covenant Health System. She has an MBA, as well as a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Ms. Gaddie has consulted with a number of United States and international clients in the high tech, financial services, health care, and governmental areas. These include Unilever, Apple, HP, GE, FedEx, Blue Shield of California, Autodesk, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation, Aegis Media, Delta Air Lines, CNET Networks, Scientific Atlanta, and the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Linda has worked with clients in China, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, Canada, and Mexico.

Yolanda J. Gorman

Dr. Gorman is the Senior Advisor to the Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives at the University of California, Los Angeles. Previously, Dr. Gorman was president and CEO of Phillips Graduate University, a graduate school of professional psychology and management. A professor of research and organizational development, Dr. Gorman is the author of articles on strategic planning and organizational development.

Dr. Gorman has conducted numerous research, consultations, workshops and corporate trainings. As a consultant, Dr. Gorman has assisted nonprofit organizations with resource development, evaluation and planning. She has been successful in securing over $100 million from state, federal and private sources to help her clients develop and deliver programs that respond to critical human needs. She also conducted training sessions for boards of directors of local and national organizations and foundations. Dr. Gorman has conducted projects for the California Endowment, the California Wellness Foundation, the Jacobs Family Foundation, the Los Angeles County Office of AIDS Programs and Policy, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education.

In addition, she serves as the Chair of the Board for CalNonprofits Insurance Services a private for-profit insurance brokerage, and is the immediate past-Chair of the Board of the Baldwin Hills Conservancy (a governor’s appointee). Dr. Gorman also serves on the Board of Directors of African American Board Leadership Institute, and was recently appointed a Los Angeles County Commissioner for Older Adults. She is a two-time Regent Emerita for the University of California, Board of Regents, a former member of the Board of the UCLA Foundation, and the first African American woman to chair the board of the UCLA Alumni Association.

Dr. Gorman is a three-time graduate from UCLA with a B.A. in psychology, and M.B.A. in accounting and small business management, and a Ph.D. in educational psychology with a minor in clinical psychology and psychiatry.

Lillie Hsu received her bachelor’s degree in Government from Harvard University and her J.D. with distinction from Stanford Law School, where she focused on race and gender issues and organized the Third National Conference of Women of Color and the Law. After serving as a judicial clerk in federal trial and appellate courts in California, she practiced civil litigation and appellate law for many years at major law firms in Los Angeles. She represented many public entities, including the Regents of the University of California, and handled cases in areas ranging from employment and civil rights to contract, medical malpractice and antitrust, including in the California Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court. She also taught for four years as a full-time lecturer in the Lawyering Skills Clinical Program at UCLA School of Law, and is happy to return to being a Bruin. Ms. Hsu is an Association of Workplace Investigators member and Certificate Holder, and an active member of the State Bar of California.

Lubbe Levin first joined UCLA in 2002 as Assistant Vice Chancellor, Campus Human Resources and was promoted in 2007 to her current role as Associate Vice Chancellor. She is responsible for providing strategic and policy leadership for the full range of human resource programs and policies at the campus. During 2014 and 2015, in addition to her campus responsibilities, she also served as Interim Chief Human Resources Officer for the UCLA Health Sciences.

Prior to coming to UCLA, she held key positions at the UC Office of the President including service as Assistant Vice President—Human Resources, with system-wide responsibility for compensation programs, staff affirmative action/EEO, employee & labor relations, personnel policy, and training and development. She did groundbreaking work in such areas as labor relations policy, incentive and recognition plans, diversity initiatives, and led efforts to restructure the human resource policy system. Between 1991 and 2001, she also served as program director for the University of California Management Institute. Dr. Levin received her Ph.D. and M.A. degrees from UC Berkeley and completed her undergraduate degree with Great Distinction at Stanford University, spending her senior year at the Université de Nantes in France. Her academic background includes serving on the faculty at Washington University in St. Louis.

Robin Epstein Ludewig is the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning and Interim Director of Learning and Organizational Development for UCLA Health, which encompasses the Hospital System, Faculty Practice Group of 150+ outpatient clinics throughout the Southern California Region, and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Robin is a globally recognized thought leader on Talent Acquisition, and her strategic vision has not only encompassed the recruitment, selection, and retention of top talent for one of the top hospitals in the United States and in the world, but has also seen an impact on the talent acquisition and workforce planning efforts for two new healthcare ventures in China being developed in partnership with the UCLA Health International Relations team that will model the UCLA Health approach to patient-centered care. In addition, Robin enjoys utilizing her knowledge and position to mentor new executive level graduates and because of this work Robin was awarded an “Excellence in Employment Award” from the California Senate Select Committee on Autism and Related Disorders and the North Los Angeles Autism Regional Taskforce in recognition of exemplary leadership in providing vocational opportunities to individuals with autism spectrum disorders, and recently she was awarded the 2018 UCLA Administrative Management Group (AMG) Excel Award for demonstrating management excellence, an award for which she was nominated by her team and peers for the amazing contributions she has made to UCLA and UCLA Health for nineteen years. Robin is a native of Southern California and resides with her family and three dogs in Toluca Lake.

Reginald Randles is the Lead Senior Organizational Development Consultant with UCLA Health Human Resources, Center for Organizational Readiness and Education (CORE). In his current role, he designs, develops and facilitates workshops for leadership development and implemented the “Leadership Begins with U” program for UCLA Health and the David Geffen School of Medicine. Reg is a published author of a case study on Motivation and Organizational Citizenship Behavior. He is the UCLA Health Sciences appointee to the University of California, Office of the President (UCOP) Talent Management Consortium where he endeavors to spread his commitment to tapping the intrinsic motivation of organizational talent. Reg holds a M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University, an Executive Certificate in Public and Non-Profit Leadership from Chapman University, a B.A. in Professional Communication from CSU, Los Angeles, He is a Society of Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and a CPP Certified Myers-Briggs Practitioner. Prior to joining UCLA he co-founded the human and leadership-development consulting firm J R Randlés Enterprises, Inc. where he successfully led and/or collaborated on organizational development, transitions, talent progression and intrinsic motivation for several organizations. Anna Rodrigues, Professional Coach, Instructional Designer, UCLA IT Services Anna Rodrigues is a career and wellness coach with more than 20 years of experience in the tech industry. She works with talented individuals who are experiencing anxiety, stress and burnout. Using cognitive based techniques, she teaches how to manage challenging jobs, colleagues, and workplaces to become happier, healthier, and more productive. She helps employees create a better path for career growth and perform at their highest level. Anna holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s in Organizational Development, and is a Certified Life and Weight Loss Coach. In her personal time, Anna partners with the Los Angeles Marathon and organizes a team to help in the fight against global hunger. Her team advocates awareness and raises funds for a food distribution center in one of the largest slums outside of Nairobi, Kenya.

Vicki Shillington Is Chief Happiness Officer at ThinqShift. She is the Talent and Organizational Development Executive who has over 20 years of experience providing executive coaching and organization transformation leadership, driving productivity improvements through engaged employees. Through the lens of positive psychology, Vickie guides organizations, teams and individuals to grow, succeed and thrive. While she works across a variety of functions, she is particularly passionate about transforming technology and digital organizations. In her current role her responsibilities include working closely with Executives across the organization as well as HR teams to reinvent the employee experience. Vicki previously led North Highlands’s global Human Capital and Change Management practice, consisting of practitioners across the US and UK. She was responsible for building a practice and leading engagements focused largely on Organization Transformation and Employee Experience. Vicki is a certified facilitator in a number of leadership programs. Miguel Unzueta is a Professor of Management and Organizations. He joined the faculty at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 2006 after earning his PhD in Organizational Behavior from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Professor Unzueta studies the psychological underpinnings of bias and discrimination. His latest research explores the manner in which people and companies define diversity and the impact that contemporary diversity definitions have on the representation of women and racial minorities in organizations. His research has been published in top management and psychology journals. Unzueta teaches courses on negotiations, managerial psychology, and leadership in all of UCLA Anderson’s MBA programs. He is an award-winning teacher at UCLA and has been recognized by MBA blog Poets and Quants as one of the best business school professors in the country. Outside of UCLA, Miguel Unzueta has conducted trainings on a wide range of management topics including negotiations, decision-making, and bias prevention. He has been invited to speak at various organizations including Honda, Fox Studios, and the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team.
