UCLA AMG presents Professional Profiles: Student Affairs Officer Panel

Join UCLA AMG for our next Professional Profile event featuring a panelist of Student Affairs Officers, who will discuss their career trajectory, key skills necessary, for this role, and advice for those of you who would like to pursue a career as a Student Affairs Officer.

 

 

Guest Speakers

Jennifer Banawa, Anthropology
Jennifer Banawa is the Graduate Advisor for the Department of Anthropology. Previously, she was the SAO for the Department of Community Health Sciences. She has been a Graduate Advisor for nine years and has been with UCLA as a full-time staff member since 2011. Prior to grad student advising, she worked as a contracts and grants specialist and had a short stint as a recruiter for temporary staffing positions. She is currently completing an MA in Higher Education Administration at the University of Louisville and is a co-facilitator of NACADA’s Advising Community on Graduate & Professional Students (GPS) collaborative group on doctoral students.

Jessica Amaya, College Academic Counseling
Jessica earned her B.A. in Sociology and Ethnic Studies from UC San Diego, and her M.A. in Higher Education Leadership from the University of San Diego. She joined UCLA in 2013 as an undergraduate SAO in the Economics Department, and has served as the College Advising Trainer at CAAC since 2018.

Lisa Lee, Psychology
Lisa Lee is the Graduate Advisor for the Department of Psychology. She received her B.A. from UCLA and her M.A. from Biola University. She has worked in Student Affairs positions in the College since 2011. She has participated in PDP and ACE and has been a board member with Staff Assembly and AGCA.
