January 17, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Rey Soto
“Excel Pivot Tables:  Challenges & Opportunities”
A pivot table is a table of statistics that summarizes the data of more extensive table (such as from a database, spreadsheet, or business intelligence program). This summary might include sums, averages, or other statistics, which the pivot table groups together in a meaningful way. Pivot tables are a technique in data processing. They enable a person to arrange and rearrange (or “pivot”) statistics in order to draw attention to useful information. With the need at UCLA to organize and analyze data, it is increasing important for staff to have the skill to sort through data quickly and efficiently.
In this seminar, Rey Soto, data analyst ninja in the Fielding School of Public Health will provide a primer on the power of the pivot table, what can be done in Excel and what the pivot table can do for you.
